Clean Home.

The post I want to share with you today comes from the blog I Dream of Clean: Cleaning and Organizing Tips for the Busy Mom . The author of this blog is a wife, and mother of multiple boys. She has some wonderful tips on easy ways to keep your home cleaner in less time. In her post she calls these 10 habits: " habits you can begin now to ensure that your home is reasonably clean most of the time." Shine your sink. Wash one load of laundry a day. Process mail immediately. Create a command center. Throw away trash. Straighten up every night. Create a cleaning schedule. Become a minimalist. Do one thing. Have a junk drawer. She explains these in more detail, and with simplicity in her post. And I encourage you to read it. Some of these have already made a big difference for me. Having a clean sink makes the whole kitchen more inviting, throwing away trash saves a lot of time and mess, straightening up every night makes the mornings much more enjoyable, and beco

Children: Yes or No?

This post is for all women everywhere! For single gals, wives, mothers, grandmothers, and more. I do not know exactly where the following words came from originally, but they are being re-pinned and shared by mothers everywhere who agree with the words I am about to put below. So listen to women everywhere who are sharing this because they appreciate it's wisdom, and acknowledge the truth of it. "We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of "starting a family." "We're taking a survey," she says half-joking. "Do you think I should have a baby?" "It will change your life," I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral. "I know," she says, "no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations." But that is not what I mean t at all. I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn i

WomanHood

I am sure you have read blogs in the past where the Author neglected to post anything for quite a while, and then when they finally did write again, they spent the entire post apologizing profusely for their negligence. That is not my plan here. Suffice it to say that I was involved in the directing team of a play this last week, and it was absolutely crazy. Moving on, however, I would like to point you today towards a book rather then a blog post or article. The name of the book is Feminine Appeal: Seven Virtues of a Godly Wife and Mother  by Carolyn Mahaney.    The author of this book is Carolyn Mahaney,     wife of the well known pastor and leader C. J . Mahaney.  She is the mother of 4 now-grown children, and her book is written as one who has had experience in many forms of womanhood. Though it is targeted towards wives and mothers, it gives many insights into femininity in general, and I believe all women would benefit by reading her book. In it she talk

The Proper Place for Exercising.

So I have expressed in an earlier post, Exercise!!! , that though I don't place a lot of emphasis on personal exercise, there are reasons why I find it important. Today I want to share with you an article I found on the blog Biblical Homemaking. The author of the blog, Mandy, is a married mother of 4 young children. She has a  lovely story of growing up in a Christian home, following Christ, turning towards the world, and then turning back to Christ after her early marriage at the age of 19. The post I want to share with you is filled with tips on how to exercise regularly, and to enjoy it. I loved her insight and 3 simple tips. Goals  Accountability Motivation But what I loved most about her post was the way that she ended it with talking about how exercise may be important, but it is not of uppermost importance. " For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to co

Pretty Cool Gift for any Little Boy.

I found this really cool tutorial on Six Sister's Stuff for a matchbox car caddy mat. This looked like a really awesome idea, and I can't wait to try it myself. Also loved the fact that the woman who wrote the tutorial wasn't the absolute best sewer on the planet, so the tutorial was easy and doesn't leave you overwhelmed. This could definitely be something that my little brothers, and hopefully some sons of mine someday would greatly enjoy. Hope you find it helpful as well! View when closed.  Materials needed: two pieces of denim (17 x 10 inches and 17 x 6 inches) one piece of Duck Cloth or other heavy fabric (17 x 10 inches) gray and yellow felt (I didn't have any gray felt on hand and used fabric, it worked fine!) piece of thick ribbon, about 12" long Velcro scrap fabric for applique sewing machine and supplies scraps of felt for road signs, optional  Pin this idea for later, or make it today by following the directions on this Cozy Ma

Great Ways to Encourage Your Kids!

Today I wanted to share with you a post on 7 ways to praise your children. I found this post really helpful and wise, despite the fact that I do not have any children. Many of the things she talked about will be helpful in my daily experience with my siblings and other children, and some of them I am happy to store in mind for later use. So even if you don't have kids. I really encourage you to read this post. The post comes from the blog Rachel Wojnarowski: Inspiring Extroardinary Faith for Everyday Living. Rachel is a Christian wife and mother of 7 children. She blogs, speaks, and writes on many godly topics.
