Command Man, Steady Man, or Visionary? (number 3)

As it is Sunday, I will continue in my series on the different characteristics and personalities of men. Last week we looked a little farther into the character of a Command Man or King, whom reflects the character of God the Father. Today I would like to move on to the Steady Man, or Priest. The Steady Man reflect the character of God the Son.
The Steady Man is the most steady of the types, hence the name. He will be easy going and not given to extremes. He tends not to make snap decisions, and not to spend his money or time on a new idea. He also hates confrontation, and is thus not the kind to tell others what to do. Debi Pearl says that the Steady Man isn't the one who invents the light-bulb, but he will be the one to build the factory and manage the assembly line that produces the light bulb.
The Steady Man sticks with the same thing for many years. They often are in the same job for many many years, and are content with the wife of their youth. They are content to stay at home, rather than constantly seeking for the next adventure.
The Steady Man is steady and cautious, and because of this can seem old even in his youth. He may seem to just let people use him. His real strength lies in being a people person. People enjoy his easy going nature, and never feel judged or ignored by him.
Essentially the Steady Man is not a shaker or a mover. His even nature keeps him from large emotional displays. He is content to take a long time in making critical decisions, and is just over all cautious.
I know a couple of men to be Steady Man, and they are very respected in their communities. They are also well loved, and I have never heard ill spoken of them. I do not know any Steady Man well enough to leave you with a fun story concerning one.
Pros of a Steady Man
-You will never feel undue pressure from him
-Faithful
-People Person

Cons of a Steady Man
-Can seem unromantic or boring
-Takes longer making a decision than you may like
-Overly cautious

These men are created in God's image, and thus deserve our respect and honor. We will be looking farther at later dates how to relate to and serve Steady Men, but for now spend time in prayer for the Steady Men in your life, and respect who God made them to be.
